MOBIL

MOBIL

Mobil, previously known as the Socony-Vacuum Oil Company, is a major American oil company that merged with Exxon in 1999 to form a parent company called ExxonMobil. It was previously one of the Seven Sisters which dominated the global petroleum industry from the mid-1940s until the 1970s. Today, Mobil continues as a major brand name within the combined company, as well as still being a gas station sometimes paired with its own store or On the Run. The former Mobil headquarters in Fairfax County, Virginia, were used as ExxonMobil’s downstream headquarters until 2015 when ExxonMobil consolidated employees into a new corporate campus in Spring.
Top auto manufacturers rely on Mobil 1 because their high-performance engines require advanced engine lubricants. Before any tires hit the road or the racetrack, Mobil 1 motor oil goes in – right at the factory – to deliver exceptional performance and protection. When it comes to motor oil technologies, Mobil 1 continues to stay ahead of the curve. Our ongoing research and partnerships with auto manufacturers and rigorous testing enable us to develop new and advanced technologies. The story behind the technology and engineering is what sets Mobil™-branded products apart from every other motor oil manufacturer. That’s what the company calls the Mobil difference.
