If you’re hot-rodding your engine to make more horsepower, upgrading the oiling system should be part of the plan. Components like a deep sump, baffled oil pan should be at the top of the list, to increase oil capacity and prevent oil starvation, along with a high volume, high-pressure oil pump to ensure your engine gets an ample supply of oil at all RPMs. But if you don’t include a performance oil filter in your build, you could be headed for problems.
